Inflammation Angel or Demon

Inflammation in the body is a good thing essencilly it is the immune systems response to infection. However, over the age of 40 the body starts having a issue stopping the inflammation and reversing the process.

When your immune system can't or doesn't turn off and is instead raging constantly it puts stress on the body. When stuck in Alert or fight or flight your body has a much harder time spotting and killing invaders like cancer≥

The body makes things called cytokines and those lead to the inflimation. However you can test your blood to see how many of these are in your body at any given time to see if your body is having this issue. Simple blood test to find cytokines.

With inflammation causing cancer and cancer causinig inflimation we have a chicken and the egg situation that has had science stumpted.

Even low levels of inflammation can cause or promote cancer says, Dr. Neel at UCSD. While science thinks that inflammation once thought ot be just a side effect might be the independent cause of the disease.

Science is at a loss currently on how to officially fix inflimation as getting rid of it woul dinvolve immune system supressing drugs and taking a person to a dangerious state as we need inflijmation to fight all the disease and flu virious colds infections in the body or we would die.

Nutrition can help with this some. Cutting processed foods that boost inflammation and changing over to a diet that has a divers mix of plants at least 30 types each week is a good goal. unfortunatly you can't eat your way out of this issue with genetics and enviromental triggers all that contribute to inflammation. Even cholesterol can be a inflammation triggger.

Cancer has been a ticky oponent turning some of the bodes own processes on it self. Macrophages get co-opted into helping cancer and right now research is going on to try to figure it out to get it to kill the cancer instead. This is currently in Phase1 trial and it's awesome. We are here for it!! Scientists get these macrophaes to treat cnacer like it would treat bacteria. That means it would eat the cancer, kill it, and induce inflammation in the tumor killing it.

This trial is very promicing Dr. Yara Abdou professor of oncology at University of North Carolina says, that they have shown that they can even do this with patients with advanced cancers!! That is super awesome for us Metastatic surviviors!

Heads up Metformin, a drug for type 2 diabetes. A study was done on the drug and a side effect of that study they found that patients who took Metformin did not have a cancer reoccur. BOOM mic drop! I am on metformin after reading this article I went to my provdier and asked if i could take it. I have also been able to take Ozempic which I talk about in another post.
