Spanish explorers corssed oceans to find the fountian of youth and it looks like science might have found it. Jill what does this have to do with cancer you say?
Professor Stuart Cook from the Medical Reserch ICouncil Laboratory of Medical Science at Imperial College London says, Iterleukin-11 is a gene we got from fish millions of years ago. Back then it helped us to heal limbs to regenerate them like Octopus. As we age we end up with higher and higher levels of this interleukin-11 protein. That inturn increases inflammation along with thick scarring and a host of old age disease.
Mice that recieved anti-IL11 treatment were healther, IT PREVENTED CANCER, boosted vision and hearing, improved metabolism, lung health, and muscle function in middle age mice. When they did this on mice the mice had no gray hair lived an additional 25% longer with minial body degeneration. See image above it is
My bet is that this will get going sooner rather than later as it seems something BIG PHARMA can make a chunck of change on this. Fingers crossed this one hits human trials soon. Now that mice are out of the way people are not far off.
